Hello and welcome

I appreciate that it took courage to reach out for support and that speaking about difficult thoughts, uncomfortable feelings and troubling experiences can feel daunting and vulnerable. For this reason, I always strive to meet you with compassion and acceptance. I bring to my practice a calm, sensitive approach and a deep appreciation of all cultures, beliefs and ways of being in the world.

I am here to help you explore your concerns so that you may gain clarity and the confidence to make new choices and achieve your desired goals.

About me
I am a fully qualified counsellor and an Accredited Member of the BACP - Accreditation with the BACP is a professional status that denotes that I meet higher standards as a competent, ethical and independent practitioner.

I had extensive counselling training in three modalities (Gestalt, Person-Centred and Transactional Analysis) and I am a Trauma-Informed Practitioner. I draw on these models and on my clinical experience to tailor therapy to your unique needs.

My clinical experience includes working with adults of all ages from many culturally diverse communities and walks of life. Alongside my private practice, I volunteered for the charity MIND and I worked for national psychological health service providers and for an international agency providing support and counselling to undergraduate and postgraduate students across the UK and Europe.
In saying a little about how I work, you will find that I am likely to encourage open dialogue as we work together towards deepening understanding and achieving your goals. I am passionate about encouraging freedom of expression because I believe that when we speak freely, without fear of being judged, we can discover ourselves in new ways and become aware of how we relate to ourselves and others - this can be a transformative experience.
My approach is collaborative and I aim to be alongside you with compassion and acceptance, so that you may tell your story and find your way forward at your own pace.

How counselling can help
In times of difficulty or crisis, counselling offers a neutral, confidential and safe setting in which to reflect and talk with a qualified practitioner about your concerns and life experiences.

With your active participation, openness and honesty, counselling can result in a number of benefits to you including improved relationships and resolution of the specific concerns that led you to seek therapy. It may bring greater awareness of choice and help you deal with difficult feelings and experiences or address issues that have been troubling you.

I specialise in working with depression, anxiety and low self-esteem. I also see people who are navigating challenging life transitions, dealing with stress, relational issues, experiencing loss, bereavement, grief, shame, guilt, trauma or feeling stuck.

Whatever it is that you are going through, feel free to contact me to find out more about how I can help.
